Carbon capture readiness
The Energy White Paper, Powering our Net Zero Future (CP 337), published in December 2020 by HM Government, suggests that carbon capture readiness is: ‘…a requirement imposed on thermal plants (such as coal and gas plants) to enable future capturing and storing of carbon following a plant upgrade. Such plants currently emit CO2 directly into the atmosphere.’
